🪪Data and information collection

The GoMaskMe app does not collect personal information unless you consent to provide it. GoMaskMe also does not collect information about the websites you visit or who or what you communicate with or about.

The information we receive automatically

We automatically collect two types of information.

1. Server IP address

The GoMaskMe server IP address is collected by Quay.io and is made available to us when the server is automatically updated with the latest security and feature enhancements. The server IP address may indicate the cloud server provider and the city where the GoMaskMe server is installed, but it does not provide information about who manages the server or who has access to it.

2. Non-identifiable technical information

In the event of a GoMaskMe failure or fatal exception, or if you manually submit feedback through the GoMaskMe app, the information below will be reported. This information will only be used to identify and correct stability or performance issues.

  • Country

  • Region

  • Date and time of failure/exception and up to 100 preceding events, such as a user opening the About section.

  • Statically compiled exception messages

  • OS name and version

  • Phone model (if applicable)

  • Application start time

  • Browser

  • Architecture

  • Application version and build number

This information is transmitted using HTTPS to Sentry (sentry.io), a third party open source bug tracking provider. Sentry uses many standard technologies and services to protect your data from unauthorised access, disclosure, use and loss.

If you have any questions about Sentry's policies, visit https://sentry.io/security/ and https://sentry.io/privacy/ or contact security@sentry.io. All GoMaskMe data stored in Sentry is restricted, so only GoMaskMe team members can access it. You can also write to support@gomaskme.com if you have any questions.

If you are using a beta version of the GoMaskMe Android app, we may use Google's Firebase service to collect debugging information that can help us detect problems and improve GoMaskMe. You can learn more about Firebase's privacy and security policies on their website: firebase.google.com/support/privacy. If you don't want GoMaskMe to send this information via Firebase, use the working version of the app.

GoMaskMe provides the following information to the team after registration.

1. Usage metrics

Each GoMaskMe server automatically collects for the last hour and for each access key the number of bytes transferred, the countries of origin of the credentials used, and whether any features have been enabled or disabled. Neither the message content nor any personal metadata (e.g. logins, emails, device IDs, etc.) are logged. All metrics are tied to a server ID.

By default, GoMaskMe servers do not pass these metrics to the team. But if one day they do, this information will be securely sent to the GoMaskMe team every hour. After 60 days, usage metrics will be aggregated at the country level.

2. Your comments and email address if you are sending feedback

GoMaskMe apps allow you to send feedback to the team. We recommend not including personal information, but the email field is not necessarily available if you want to receive a response from the team. We also automatically collect some basic information to understand your feedback. See point 2 above under "Information we collect automatically" to see what data we collect.
